UKTheatreSchool & RAD Ballet

At UKTheatreSchool Performing Arts Academy we teach RAD Ballet classes for our Junior, Middle & Senior School Students.

We believe Ballet is the core of all dance and this course will introduce students to the theatrical dance of Classical Ballet. Taught by professional dancers based on the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) in London www.rad.org.uk the course will teach ballet technique through the study of stylised movements and positions and it will also provide a solid foundation for students who wish to continue their dancing ability to a higher level.

All students wishing to go to college or further education performing arts academies or conservatoires should ensure they attend at least a weekly technique class in ballet as this is expected within all or most performing arts schools.

RAD Grades Available:

Pre-Primary level

Primary level

Grade 1

Grade 2

Grade 3

Grade 4

Grade 5

Grade 6

Intermediate Foundation – These students must attend ballet at least twice per week.

Style:

The course is based on the Royal Academy of Dance teaching method and is designed to systematically train students from a young age to a professional level.  RAD Dance Certificate examinations are held once a year for children and twice for major students.

Classes:

The entire course covers 12 years of study. Pre-Ballet classes are available for 4 year olds to 7 year olds
• 4-7 years old attend once/week
• 8-12 years old attend once/week – this may grow to twice per week.
• 11-12 years old & older advanced students (advanced) attend three times/week (1 hour each)

Physical and mental development with improved flexibility, co-ordination and concentration. This course is taught by qualified teachers who can teach the student to be aware of their body to develop better poise and confidence, and to appreciate the art of dance.

RAD Ballet Costs

If you wish your child to be involved please note that the classes are £5 per lesson and all missed classes must be paid for within a ten week block (as per UKTheatreSchool’s usual terms & conditions) and the times are as follows:
