How to Join UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond Associate School

As peaceful and idyllic as this banner picture suggests there is an exciting 'Entertainment' buzz around this beautiful area with a huge interest in our theatre school performing at events in the prestigious loch side venues.  Our UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond students also play a massive part in the casting side of things with River City studios just along the road.  This Associate School is a very exciting theatre school to be a part of.

Stage 1 - Audition

Entry into our Main Performing Arts Academy in Glasgow and/or London School or our affiliated Associate Schools is exactly the same in the sense that everyone applying for placement must first be assessed at a formal audition.

Please see Main Auditions page for further details on audition day procedures.

The Next Open Audition Day for UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond is:

July 2010 (exact date TBC)

at

The Church

215 Main Street

Please call 0141 332 5192 for further details and a UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond Associate School Prospectus & Information Pack.

Associate School Venues

UKTheatreSchool's main management seeks out venues suitable for performing arts for its Associate Schools. The venue which ticked all or most of our boxes in this Loch Lomond area was Sutherland Dance Academy in the Main Street, Alexandria. The venue benefits from the following:

  • Rehearsal Rooms
  • Dance Studios
  • Stage Area
  • Comfortable Waiting Area
  • Café / Bar
  • Internet Access for our students and/or their parents
  • Soft play area for waiting parents with their younger children.

Open Day Auditions, Enrolment Days or Evenings and Term time lessons will be held within this venue.

Stage 2 - Enrolment

Again, Enrolment is the same procedure as the Main Glasgow School however; cost do vary in Associate Schools are some are situated in local areas, out of city centres and therefore; costs can be lower whereas some others, like London, are within a costly city centre and for this reason can cost more for classes. Please check each individual Associate School for their own unique fee costs.

Following the Audition Stage; successful applicants will attend an Enrolment Day or Evening. Enrolment Days are set aside for parents and new students to enjoy some light refreshments, to pay Enrolment Fees and Course Deposits as well as collect the students’ new UKTheatreSchool Uniform. This Enrolment time also allows the new student and their parents to familiarise themselves with UKTheatreSchool staff, premises and ask any questions they feel necessary. There is usually an Induction Talk from our Principal or Senior Staff and a chance to collect your new uniform - New Students and their parents are advised to allow for around 1.5 hours for this Enrolment.

Enrolment Fee

Enrolment Fees for each new student within the Loch Lomond Associate School is £50.00 and there is also a UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond Course Deposit for each new student of £20.00

Can I Pay An Annual Fee to Avoid Termly Payments?  Yes and at a reduced cost!
Annual Fees Reduction for 2010 / 2011. Some parents chose to pay annually to avoid queuing weekly or at the end of each term and to take advantage of the discount. The details are as follows: There is a reduced set fee for an annual payment. Over our 45 week year the annual total for UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond would amount to £337.50 however; with the benefit of the annual fee reduction the annual fee for 45 weeks paid in full and in advance will be £307.50. Parents wishing their child to be involved in extra lessons within the Loch Lomond Associate School can also pay for these classes on a termly or annual basis. Each class may vary in price please enquire within the Associate School itself for information about individual lessons.

Fee Reductions – UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond Youth Program
There is no automatic reduction in fees for younger brothers and sisters. This Performing Arts Academy has a long history of drawing pupils from a wide range of social and economic backgrounds. Some families with one child need help with fees while other families with several children can afford fees for each child. UKTheatreSchool believes it is fairer, and more consistent with its admissions policy, to provide help with fees on the basis of need in individual cases. Fee help is continually screened and not everyone applying for a help can be granted a reduction. These decisions are based on school budgets.

Scholarships – UKTheatreSchool Loch Lomond Youth Program
Scholarships have been granted in the past however; it is UKTheatreSchool’s policy to only grant a scholarship to an existing student who has been with our school for no less than 6 months. This is to establish ability and dedication. The amount offered in a scholarship is calculated in each individual case with the family involved in the discussions of what they can reasonably afford and what the school will contribute. This settlement is reviewed each year. In some cases a full scholarship may be granted.
