UKTheatreSchool Performing Arts Academy is the UK’s Most Prestigious Training Ground for Young Talent.

UKTheatreSchool bridge the gap between drama clubs and further education performing arts establishments.  Its founder, Lizanne ( Lambie ) Thomson, noticed a clear gap in the education system to provide the correct training for young people looking to advance in performing arts. In January 2001 UKTheatreSchool Performing Arts Academy opened as an independent Drama and Musical Theatre school within the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama ( RSAMD ).

In 2006, due to the popularity and in turn growth, the school expanded into its own premises.  The UKTheatreSchool is ideally situated within the most beautiful Grade B listed building within the vibrant Glasgow City Centre - two minutes walk from Glasgow Central & Queen Street train stations.

Since 2001 UKTheatreSchool Performing Arts Academy has provided its students with a structured comprehensive performing arts syllabus within the finest environment. This training has been commended by industry professionals and led to its students progressing on to many of the finest establishments in London, France, Germany, Italy and to the Juilliard School in New York, USA.  Being part of the top Casting Agency in the country UKTheatreSchool students enjoy continued success in the theatre, film & television industries.

The students at UKTheatreSchool Performing Arts Academy range from age 4 years through to 17 years old for our Youth Programs and from age 18 for our Adult programs...

 

Our Junior School Program

The UKTS Junior School consists of two departments; Jnr Prep 1 (for P1-P4) and Jnr Prep 2 (for P5-P7).

Jnr Prep 1 & Jnr Prep 2 curriculums are fun based and geared at training the students while immersing them in a pleasurable environment. The Junior School have lessons in Acting, Singing and Dance and while we introduce structure to our Juniors by teaching the basics in performing arts we actively encourage creativity and individualism. Students in Jnr Prep 2 can also work on vocational courses.

 

 

 

Our Senior School Program

The Senior School is also consists of two departments; Snr 1 (for S1-S3) and Snr 2 (for S4-S6).

The Senior School program is geared towards an older age grouping and looking at the development of the students with regards to performing arts.  At Snr 1 level students can train as a hobby or opt for vocational training. We introduce LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) and LCM (London College of Music exams to those students ready to be presented (LAMDA & LCM exams are optional).

The Snr 2 is again all of the above but geared at the vocational student although there are courses for those at beginner level.
